The following information was submitted by a site visitor: Alexis Many (1879-1937) was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was primarily known for his landscape paintings and studied under Otto Stark. He later moved to Washington D.C. in 1901 where he taught art at Mckinley High School. Many was a member of the Washington Art Club, the Ar6t Students League, the Society of Washinton Artists, and exhibited at the Corcoran Bienniels of 1912, 1923, 1930. He was also active in California
