George Ames Aldrich was a man who apparently was comfortable in many different settings… He is most known for his paintings of Brittany and Normandy, largely executed around 1890-1920.
In 1924 he moved to South Bend, IN and found fertile painting ground in the Dunes around the southern tip of lake Michigan. At this time, he associated himself with the Chicago Art Institute.
He died in his home in Chicago in 1941.
