Lawrence McConaha was from the Centerville area and is considered part of the Richmond School of artists.
Primarily known for landscapes but also produced portraits and still lifes.
Active in various Indiana arts groups—the Hoosier Salon, Indiana State Fair Annual Exhibition, The Richmond Art Association, etc.
Some exhibition records outside the state (PAFA, Corcoran).
Interestingly, McConaha spent some time painting in Tahiti.
