His works were widely exhibited and highly sought after. He exhibited in the Hoosier Salon no less than 25 times and won numerous awards. His work also won awards at the Indiana State Fair, the Indiana Artists Club, Watercolor Society of Indiana and the Kentucky Watercolor Society. He was married to Ella Jean Ward in 1946. He was a member and past president of the Indiana Artists Club, a founding member and past president of the Art Directors club of Indiana, and a charter member and first president of the Watercolor Society of Indiana where the members created a merit award in his honor.
