Wilbur Meese (1910-1998) was an active artist in Indiana who exhibited throughout the state. In addition to smaller shows, he was juried into six Hoosier Salon annual exhibits from the late 1960’s to 1990. He was the art director for Eli Lilly and Company until his retirement in 1973, and his work is in numerous corporate collections as well as at Conner Prairie. He also served as president of the Indiana Watercolor Society, an organization that offers an award in his name.
