- This painting was featured in our weekly email on 5/26/17 along with the following gallery comments: Karl Brandner studied and painted in the Chicago area but other destinations included Brown County and the American Southwest. Today's example, Watching over the Herd (our title) is obviously Southwestern subject matter featuring two Native Americans watching over their animals in the valley below. The painting has been cleaned and is in perfect condition. Currently unframed -- we will put it into an antique reproduction frame for the price quoted above.
