The following information was submitted by a site visitor: Granville Bishop (1831-1902) was born in Fayette County and moved with his family to Iowa before returning to Indiana as an adult in the 1860s. He was mobility impaired and a self-taught artist who made his living creating landscapes, portraits in oils and crayons, store signs and theatrical scenery.
